Welcome

The QLD Division of the Australian Acoustical Society as well as the Acoustical Society of New Zealand warmly invites all members of the acoustics community to attend the Second Australasian Acoustical Societies' Conference in Brisbane, Australia in November 2016.


The technical program promises to be of great interest to all attendees covering a full range of topics including areas such as active noise control, musical acoustics, transportation, environmental and underwater acoustic as well as building and architectural noise.


Many international plenary, keynote & invited speakers will be in attendance along with leaders in various fields making this a high quality event. We expect in excess of 200 attendees and over 100 peer reviewed papers. Additional discussion and information can also be found at the Conference LinkedIn Group.


Technical Programme

The technical program will be extensive and cover all areas of acoustics. Additionally three specialist short courses will be run on the day prior to the start of the conference.

Venue

The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre is located in Brisbane's South Bank precinct and offers many options for accommodation, dining and tourist attractions.

Registrations are now open and include early bird pricing.

Trade and Exhibition

Sponsorship opportunities are available including many options for exhibition space.











Daily Barista and Associate Sponsorships are still available. Silver and Bronze Sponsorhips are also available however as the Exhibition space is fully sold, new Silver and Bronze sponsors would not have access to Exhibition Booths.


Australian Acoustical Society

The Australian Acoustical Society aims to promote and advance the science and practice of acoustics in all its branches to the wider community and provide support to acousticians.

The Society was formed in 1964 when meetings were held of people interested in acoustics and vibration. The Society was incorporated on 1 April 1971 as a public company. Divisions are active in all Australian States.

Acoustical Society of New Zealand

The New Zealand Acoustical Society is an Incorporated Society with membership grades suitable for professionals working in acoustics, as well as any other persons interested in acoustics. Branch meetings are held in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland with invited presentations on topics of current acoustical interest.

Second Joint Conference

Acoustics 2016 is the second joint conference between the Australian Acoustical Society and the Acoustical Society of New Zealand. The conference in 2016 forms part of the Annual Australian Acoustical Society and biennial Acoustical Society of New Zealand conferences.
